Our unusual September weather produced unusual sightings.   One was oodles of orange butterflies, slightly smaller than monarchs  and with different markings.  Turns out it’s the painted lady butterfly and a bunch went north in July and thrived up in Canada.  And on their journey back south they spent quite a bit of time in VT!
